Macy

April 9, 2011 - Debbie writes: It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that Macy passed away today. Unfortunately Macy contracted cancer approximately two years ago. We had her tested and the tumor was not interfering with any of her organs and her will being. We were told that it was questionable if she would survive surgery and if we kept our eyes on her she could live just fine with it. That is what we did and she did survive quite a while. Recently Macy's health began to decline. We did everything we could to make her comfortable. She would only eat people food and that's what we fed her. Recently she began to get a little shaky on her hind legs but we still did everything possible to make her comfortable. We could just not let her go. In the last couple of weeks Macy's health has rapidly declined. She refused to eat and clearly she lost the will to live. So, with my heavy heart, our family put Macy is rest today. I just wanted to let everyone know that if you are ! considering taking in a rescued dog..DO IT! They are the most loving loyal dogs you will ever let into your life. She brought so much joy and happiness to our family and we will never be the same now that she is gone. We would have done anything for her to have prolonger her life, but that would have been just selfish on our part. Thank you for allowing us to be adoptive parents to this wonderful pet! She brought happiness to us that we will never forget. "

We are sorry for your loss.

Update Macy's Story

This loving rottie-dobie mixed girl was found stray in an urban area. She is a very affectionate, kissy girl who is looking for a forever friend! Macy is house trained, rides well in the car, and can be stubborn if required to go outside in the rain (not sure if that's a dobie trait or a rottie one - or a combination). Macy will do best in a home with older dogs - she doesn't like the young ones "in her face". Macy is social with people of all sizes and genders, and is untested with cats.
