Jordan
January 27, 2010 - Carole writes: "Jordie is still very lovable but is quieting down as he gets older. He still barks at other dogs and would prefer cats didn't exist, but he is very content to lay in front of the fireplace or his beloved bed. (Although he does sleep with us a night on our bed!) He much prefers going on short walks and will just sit down when he is done and won't get up until we turn around for home. He is still sweet and lovable and always hungry! He will eat toilet paper if we forget to shut the bathroom when we go out!"
November 4, 2006 - Jordan was adopted by Lee and Carole. Jordan now spends time in both MA and NH, and is working on improving his canine social skills with private lessons from Denise. Carole writes: "He is great. We've already taken him for two walks and will be taking him for another one soon. I think he is a little lonely and misses you guys, he didn't really gobble his food down this morning, although he was very interested in our blueberry muffins. He comes over to us and sits down to get some loving, and he whips his butt back and forth at you until you scratch it. He's getting used to his bed, but slept in the hall during the night. Either he liked the smaller space or he was protecting us! I think when we go to Mansfield today he will be happy to see more people, he's not used to the quiet!"

This 4-5 year old rottie boy is just looking for his forever family. Imagine finding yourself in a high volume urban shelter through the winter (alright, it's dry and you're getting fed). You are sharing a cell with another dog who you don't really get along with - so one of you has to sit outside in the cold and one of you stays inside. There are several altercations ver food, the warm part of the cell, and getting in each other's space. Finally - a rescue person comes and takes you away and promises you a "forever home."
That was in January. Jordan has been looking since then for his "forever" family. Jordan is adorable. He's affectionate. He wiggles so hard you'd think he was going to break in half. He knows commands. He walks well on lead. He's eternally social. He is house broken, crate trained and rides very well in the car. Jordan is also afraid of other dogs - and before they can "get" him, he protects himself.
Jordan is easy to focus and can easily go to obedience classes and socialize. He is less intimidated by smaller dogs, and has shared space with Jessie and some smaller mixed breeds. Classes will actually be the best situation for him so that he can relax in the presence of other dogs.
Because of a medical situation in his foster home (personal dog), Jordan has been moved to the kennel where he spent the summer. He enjoys daily visits from the volunteers, including school-aged kids. He is walked, trained, and loved every day. But what Jordan would love the most is a family all of his own. Please consider Jordan.
Found stray in an urban area, he spent the holidays in a high volume urban shelter. At 85#, he is correctly marked & docked and loves people. Jordan is fearful of other dogs and will do best in a home where he is the only dog Please fill out our adoption application if you are interested in any of our dogs
