I got on the computer but did not seem able to update my life on the happy endings page. But I so want you to know how happy I am with my forever, ever, ever, ever family. And, if I must say so myself, how happy they are with me. I know this because of all the hugs, stomach rubs, kisses, chews, cookies, etc that I get every day (don't worry I am not a bit overweight because I exercise so much). One of my favorite things to do in all the world is dig. And can you imagine, my parents had this huge mulch pile delivered to our yard this summer. Wow, it was at least 20 feet tall. I am not sure but I think they got it to be my sand pile. At least they seemed to laugh every time ( which was all summer long) I ran to the top of the pile and dug like mad hiding everything in sight (including some of their tools) into the depths of that wonderful mulch. I even slept out there during those hot, humid afternoons. I know how proud they are of my digging abilities. The other day I went to work with dad. He is a carpenter. He tied me up during lunch but forgot to put me back into the truck. I had seen him digging in this very spot just the other day and thought I could help him out. So while he worked inside, I dug like mad in the soft soil. I dug real deep. When he came out I could tell by the look on his face how very proud he was of me. I even heard him telling mom how amazed he was at how far I had dug down into the ground. I am not sure but he mentioned something about the grass seed being scattered also. Not sure what he was talking about but the next day at work work I saw him with a rake and shovel in the same place I had dug. Wonder what he was doing? If I can believe everything my adorable little furry ears hear, I am the most precious dog alive. All people seem to just love me. I am cuddly and oh have such a soft stomach. I am a dream to have in a car as I do not bark even when dad has to leave me in the truck while he works. ( Don't worry, I have the whole big back seat to myself, water, open windows, and get to eat lunch with the work crew. Some of them even walk me during lunch).
One thing that sometimes upsets my mom is my refusal to consistently take walks with her in the woods. I don't know why but when it is just mom and me I sometimes seem to get anxious and run back home. If I am with mom and dad, with dad, or with mom and another dog, I will do the whole walk no problem. Not sure what that is all about.
Well there is so much more to share but it is bed time. I have put all my toys in the toy box and am ready to call it quits for the day. I think my mom mentioned something about sending a check since she can't not attend the auction. We occasionally look on dogs available but I have heard her say , "No, can't do it. Cassie is enough for now." Say hell-o to my foster parent. She took good care of me and I appreciate it. Know that I am loved and happy here in Shelburne. Keep up the good work."
