Melie

June 27, 2008 - Joan writes: Melanie is recovering well from a crisis of Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. It was VERY scary for a few weeks. Vaccinations are a common cause of this auto-immune problem. I NEVER vaccinate my dogs as adults and highly recommend vaccine titers to determine their protection. With everyone's prayer and concerns ....our girl is going to make it!!!

May 9, 2008 - Joan writes: Melanie is perfect! She plays with her herding ball in the yard, briefly and loves her naps on her cooling bed. She is her Daddy's girl but never met anyone or anything that she did not love (except for the toe nail clippers!) She has made our canine family complete. In a few months she has been a part of our family for a year!

August 19, 2007 - Melie, now Melanie was adopted by Joan and Brian of Deleware.

Joan writes: "Well, Melanie is the love of our lives!! She is the absolutely perfect loving girl. Mike , Chris and she are living happily together with NO issues!! She waits for us to help her into bed with us every night and has those little "spurts" of puppy play every day. I believe she is comfortable and happy here with us. Melanie is scheduled for knee surgery next Wednesday to repair her right cruciate ligament and possible eye surgery to correct the entropian in her right eye. We may wait for the best eye surgeon to do her eye in September. Just wanted to keep you posted on our new girl!!

Melie is an affectionate Rottie lady whose family decided that there was just no time in their busy schedules for her. Through no fault of her own, Melie finds herself homeless and looking for love at just 6 years old. She has lovely manners, but would benefit from a class in obedience. Melie is looking for a friend to take her on leisurely walks and cuddle up with her to watch TV. She is gentle with her treats and shares her toys. Although she was surrounded by rescued rabbits during her evaluation, she focused on the people in the room and delighted in leaning on them to receive their caresses. She takes daily thyroid medication which is both affordable and effective. If you would like to apply for the position of Melie's "forever" best friend,
