Rio

December 15, 2007 - Rio was adopted by Bob & Valerie and their rottie boy from Maine.

This 5 year-old pure bred, neutered, correctly marked and docked Rottweiler had a family once. . the owner-surrender’s card states that he is good with kids, and social with other dogs, and housebroken.   Amicably sharing a kennel with a male shepherd, he proves he is good with other dogs.  Rio walks well on lead, and reliably knows sit and down. This friendly people-focused leaner enjoys a good butt rub and dances under your touch.  His evaluation revealed no food or resource (toy, bone) guarding, and when he alerted to a passing truck, he quickly calmed down on command. Rio will make a great family dog for those with dominant-dog experience.  He is actively looking to relocate to a home in the suburbs with a fenced yard.  Stop by to visit Rio, and he will surely greet you with a wiggling butt and smiling face!

Rio is being treated for heartworm - the result of his former owners not providing him with a $6/month preventative. He will be available in mid-October.
