Denali

September 26, 2008 - Denali, now Dan was adopted by Chip & Barbara from New Hampshire. Chip writes: "In any case, Dan has settle in very nicely. He must have been through quite a bit before he was rescued as he has been VERY shy and scared of most people, not to mention other dogs he has come in contact with or unexpected sounds. . But after only a few weeks he is now feeling is oats ! He is getting a little bit more assertive with our German shepherd which is great. Although he is still shy when meeting visitors, he is no longer appears fearful. He LOVES to play and enjoys his walks. In the evenings, after is PM walk, he has to sit on the couch with his paws and head on your lap. But now he no longer jumps up to follow me ever time I leave the room. He just sits up with his head tilted trying to hear my returning foot steps. He loves his crate and goes in willingly at night. The ONLY reason he is crated is because I have to crate my German shepherd as well. My shepherd cries if we don't crate him because he wants to sleep in our bedroom with us. (he can't because he chases cats and we have two). So they both do well when they are crated next to each other. Dan absolutely loves the water- at least large puddles after it rains. He makes a big deal about splashing in every one he comes across. Got to get another pool for the dogs next year. He is also a very good watch dog, hears everything."

This regal face belongs to the soft hearted Denali. He's between 2-3 years old with a slight build. We don't quite understand it, but he has the softest coat we've ever snuggled on a pit bull. It's truly mink-worthy. It didn't come from a life of luxury; Denali was dumped at a city dump and then claimed by a “Good Samaritan” that also had 131 other dogs in her house.  When things got out of hand, the officials stepped in and got all the dogs out.  Denali has a bit of an accent as he has come north from Texas!!!  And he is more than happy to leave those days behind him and focus on better days, preferably in your lap!!

Delani is currently vaccinated, neutered and mircochipped.  He is a gentle soul with perfect manners and crates nicely.  He does well with other dogs and is really a dignified man. Denali is in the Capital District of New York. Local applicants are encouraged to apply.
