Lydia

Lydia is about 3 years old and came from Texas. She had a rough life in Texas, she came in with an embedded collar and shows a scar from that past life. She is happy to be in NY with her foster family but she really deserves a permaent home to call her own. Lydia is a typical dominant female and gets along with other dogs if they will let her be boss. It took about a month but Lydia is now housebroken and we trust her in the house when we leave for shorter periods of time 4 hours or so. She has never been destructive when left in the house. Lydia is also fine in her crate. She loves peanut butter kongs, marrow bones, car rides, walks, chasing her toys when thrown across the room and just to be with you once she trusts you. She does growl when meeting some new people but over a bit of time and with treats and kindness you will gain her trust. Once you gain that trust she is such a devoted, loving companion. She sleeps great at night in my bedroom and doesn't make a peep until she hears you get up, or toss and turn. Lydia has learned to sit and wait till we say ok to eat her meals.

No children who would be living with Lydia at this time. If you have prior dominant dog experience and have a home that is not chaotic Lydia maybe a great fit for you. Lydia would make a loving companion for the right family. Lydia is in the Capital District of New York. Local applicants are encouraged to apply. Lydia is a Confederate Canine. $350 adoption fee. Please fill out our adoption application if you are interested in any of our dogs
