Luigi

March 5, 2009 - Kerri writes: "Things are going great with Luigi!! The girls love him to pieces and he is being very good. Has had only an accident in the house once. Sleeping great in his crate at night!!! He is so funny...His personality is really starting to come out!!! His whole back half of his body wags...with that who needs a tail...He is having Ashley the trainer come once a few for the next six weeks so we can learn to do a couple more things and to help us learn better how to comunicate. He is a dream come true for our family and love him more every day. We will be going to the Vet next week and we are looking forward to that. I will keep you updated.... Thanks again"

February 22, 2009 - Luigi was adopted by Kerri & Rob today. He arrived at his new home to new toys, a new crate and a new life! Kerri writes: "Luigi seems to be very happy he has gone for a couple of walks spent some time in in his crate and is curled up on the floor snoring. You didn't tell me how fast he would eat his dinner. My goodness that was the fastest dinner eating I have ever seen. He is very cute and funny and we Love him so much already. His new Grammy came by to meet him and he was very polite with her. Just a short note to say thanks and you are definatly underapprecited for all you do."

Everyone loves Luigi. This 3 yr old rottie man is a love wants to be your best friend. Rescued from Texas after Hurricane Ike, Luigi's first venture into living in a house came when he entered rescue. He has made huge strides in becoming a fantastic family dog and living IN the house is no longer a novelty (the situation was rather forced by the cold snap we had in mid-November). Luigi now plays with a ball, sleeps on a Kuranda bed, and knows his next meal will be served on schedule.

Luigi is about 85lbs now - up from the 75 that he came in at - and will be good with another ten lbs. He is a willing participant in the weight gain and eats with enthusiasm. He now knows sit, down and comes when called. Positive reinforcement for training will go a long way with Luigi. He is also very food motivated.

This cuddly man is social with other dogs his own size and lives harmiously with five other rottweilers and pitties. He has done very well at our meet & greet events with the other dogs, and has displayed absolutely no negative behavior with dogs or people. No cats, small dogs or small livestock for Luigi. Kids over 8 for Luigi. Luigi rides well in the car -- which is a good thing as he was a Hurricane Ike evacuee now living in the New Hampshire. Luigi is a Confederate Canine.
