November 27, 2011 - Jodi writes: "Sasha has turned into a gorgeous rotty, that becomes more of a little lady by the day. She was extremely guarded when I first brought her home, and through time and trust and keeps her big brother young. She is amazingly loyal and I am so lucky to have found her. "

September 28, 2010 - Sasha was adopted by Jodi in RI.

Turned in by her owner because he had "no time", Sasha was frightened in this urban city shelter in New York. While her evaluation while scared was average, she settled in with the volunteers, who wrote: "Actually, this should be headed "two volunteers write," because that's what happened as we gathered around the lovely lady Sasha. This five year old is such an affectionate, gentle girl! She is kind with other dogs, she appears housebroken, and she is very, very good at leaning against a walker's leg and staying very, very still to optimize petting time. She is clearly eager for human companionship, and is so grateful when she receives it. Apparently she was quite frightened when she first arrived, but now she has settled in and is quite mild. In the words of one volunteer (and we're not saying which one), "She's a real mush!"  

Sasha is social with other dogs and has met several cats in our presence without incident. This wiggly-but-dominant girl understands pack structure and expects her forever family to understand it as well. Kids over 12.
