March 19, 2011 - Colby was adopted by Ron and Dianna. Ron writes: "He is doing greatthe integration with the other two has been a non-event. They get along like they have always been together. "
Brought in as a "stray" in urban New York, Colby has attracted the attention of the volunteers. Colby is a stunning rottie, a big boy at 98 lbs. He is as gentle and quiet as can be, and a little hesitant at coming out of his kennel. We went into the backyard where I took him off leash. All he wanted to do was stay by my side as I walked around. He is such a nice dog. Colby does not pull or jump, he seems to be housetrained. He can sit and stay on command. I did not observe any aggressive features or behaviors. The behaviorist and his handler appreciated him very much as a good dog. Colby is truly a gentle giant, a very handsome boy, an ambassador for his breed who needs his forever home now. Colby passed his evaluation without incident - and gets along with other dogs, shares his food & toys willingly and looks for affection.
Colby is in foster care with other rotties. He gets along with dogs of all sizes, and is gentle with treats. He was recently at an adoption event where he kissed every toddler available. He has not been tested with cats. Kids over 6.
Colby will be available in late February for adoption.
