August 31, 2011 - Gia was adopted by Mitsi of New York. "After a quite stressful first day together when she ran off and explored the mountain where I live a few times, she was picked up by a car going by who saw the leash and thought the rottie was my son Jack's dog. He stopped here as he knew Jack was not home. Hence, the wandering adopted orphan came home. And she is DELIGHTFUL. She seems to like everyone she meets and she has met quite a few folks in her short stay here. She was trained on the invisible fence, understandably did not like being zapped, and it took a few times but now, I think and hope she has learned. Time will tell. She is affectionate, clean, curious, loves bounding out on the lawn at breakneck speed, rolling in the fresh mowed grass, and getting treats.Thursday she has her appointment with the vet, and the trainer is calling me back to set a date for first session. When our town mess from Irene cleans up I shall register her but for now, our town hall is a shelter for folks who lost their homes. A neighbor brought her large dog over for a visit and the two got along splendidly --another plus for Mattie!
Five year old Gia was found a stray in New York City. Now in foster care, she proves that she's a dream of a house guest. Aside from a quick peek on the counter, Gia has lovely manners. She is house trained and loves to ride in the car. A recent visit to the doggy day spa shows that she's a ladie about her personal appearance. She keeps her svelte figure by chasing a tennis ball, which she readily shares. Gia is social with other dogs, but not tested with cats. Gia's foster home is in Upstate New York.
