February 17, 2012 - Kelly, fka Laura was adopted by Dawn and Robert in Vermont. Kelly underwent medical treatment to remove a bullet that she carried with her from Miami. Robert writes: "She is absolutely terrified of the camera, a black object in my hands. Her body language consistantly indicates an association with something scarry or harmful to her. My conclusion is the circumstances when she was shot.
Walking in the snow is good therapy for both of us. She can put some weight on her "bad" leg, and the snow will give a little, as opposed to a hard surface like the floor. The very good news is that she is making progress."

This pretty 2 year old rottie girl is also a Miami native and is looking forward to changing seasons, hikes in the fall, and "mud season" -- all things that she never sees in Florida! Laura passed her evaluation properly, is social with all people and other dogs. She shares her food and toys willingly. Has not been tested with young children or cats. Laura arrives in mid-December. Laura is a Confederate Canine.
