Katrina Survivor.

It's about time for Helena to find her forever home. This older lady (she said 'a lady never reveals her age') is looking for a happy place to call home for the remainder of her days. She is affectionate, loving and happy. Helena is spayed and was previously treated for heartworm. Helena gets along with adult dogs, but would prefer to be left alone by pesky puppies and pushy dogs. Helena is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car & knows several command. Shortly after her arrival from storm ravaged New Orleans, she spent a week on Cape Cod during the WET FALL of 2005. Needless to say, Helena prefers warm, dry days. Helena's favorite hobby is chasing a tennis ball and can rival the best outfielders in catching them. Please fill out our adoption application if you are interested in any of our dogs. Please visit www.4theloveofdog.org.

She is currently vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Please contact them at 973-824-7080 or via email at associatedhumane@aol.com Gerber is known as #18437 (she's been there a long time).

Stevie

Please meet Stevie!

Stevie is a 1 to 1.5 yr.old 75 lb male Rottweiler, he is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on preventative, neutered and is micro-chipped. Stevie is a pretty large Boy so even at 75lbs. is a bit underweight, he has picked up some weight and I am sure will be at his suggested weight in no time at all. Stevie is a very friendly and sweet Boy, he loves to just be with you. Stevie does know some of his basic commands and will be attending OB class with P.U.P.S Obedience Training.

If you are interested in giving Stevie a good home, please fill out our Adoption Application and return it to terry4553@verizon.net Stevie is being fostered in Maryland.

Reese

Reese is a one-year old Rotti mix who was rescued by our Humane Law Enforcement Agents from a dreadful situation. She's overwhelmingly Rotti, but has the most adorable "fringe" of whiskers around her bottom lip. Who knows where those whiskers came from in her family tree (perhaps Airedale?). Despite Reese's rough start in life, this gal doesn't hold any grudges. She's very affectionate to people She's also very energetic and very bright in that unique Rotti-way. When out for a walk, this young gal is always in a hurry to get where she is going. She needs lots of exercise, and adores jumping up and mouthing people. (She needs an owner who will teach her that this puppy-like behavior is not appropriate.) And Reese does want to learn. She's very, very eager to learn basic manners and will work well for a taste of her favorite treat. She absolutely needs to attend training classes, so that she can mature into an upstanding canine citizen. Reese is quite the busy body -- always very curious about everything. She needs a very active, experienced owner who will keep her well exercised and who wants to train her. We've discovered that she's not comfortable around children and would feel more comfortable in a home with adults. Reese also doesn't like other dogs very much at all. Don't worry, if you're walking her in the City, she'll pass other dogs and simply ignore them. She just doesn't want a dog in her face. So, Reese needs to be in a one-dog household, with that one special dog being Reese, of course! If you're interested in meeting Reese, please contact Trish McMillan at the ASPCA (TrishM@aspca.org).

Honestly - we know there are more dogs out there who need homes. Each month, an email is sent to at least 25 folks who regularly place dogs and I publish the responses. If you regularly keep in contact with a shelter in the North East and want to add a dog regularly to our list, please email me privately and I will contact you each month for your submission!
