Available Rottweilers

Deuce

Deuce is a lovely 1.5 year old spayed female rottweiler. She has not had much socialization and is a little nervous when in new situations and of men. Deuce will need owners willing to provide many positive social times that are not too overwhelming. Owners will need to remember to keep scary experiences upbeat with tons of high value treats, such as hot dogs or cheese. Children will need to be 10 or older to be part of her new family. Dogs will need an introduction but we do not recommend a home with small dogs. Cats cannot be part of Deuce’s new home. Deuce is available through the SPCA in Concord NH.

Cody

Cody is a neutered male Rottie/Coonhound Mix who will be 5 years old in March. Cody is a great dog whose parents are going through a divorce. He needs to find his own family to love him and spend time with him. He is an extremely gentile boy who is very loving. He lives in a home currently with a 6 year old girl and is wonderful with children of any age. He is not a barker, but prefers to stay dignified and quiet. Cody weighs about 105 lbs, is currently vaccinated on all his shots and his rabies is not due to expire until August 2007. Cody is such a wonderful boy and would bring lots of joy to a special family. Are you that special family? If so, please contact Kristine. Cody is in Massachusetts.

Ouzo

This is a 10 year-old boy who was left at the vet's to be euthanized because his owner is moving and cannot take him! She tried for months to get a rescue to take him, but we all know how that goes. She did not want to leave him in a shelter to languish in fear, and had run out of time. Don't these people have FRIENDS????

He is well-cared for, on the small side for a male (maybe 75-80-pounds) and has lived with children. He is social with other dogs, but unknown with cats. The vet gave him a physical and refused to euthanize him because he was in such good condition.

He was a little reserved at first, but warmed up quickly, and solicited attention in a few minutes. He walks beautifully on lead. Absolutely no food or resource guarding. . He did not want me to extend his back legs. . .but just sat down when I tried. The vet had the same reaction. Nothing more than that.

Can we please get him out of the kennel? While this is a nice place, this senior should be in a home. Hoping to find him a forever home or at least a long term foster situation. Ouzo is in New Jersey. More information is available from Linda at (973) 812-9749 or e-mail DogMom4@webtv.net for more details. View more of Linda RESCUED DOGS.

Bruin

Bruin is a four year old rottie (mix?) with a docked tail. He was very ill when he came into rescue with a nasty upper resperatory infection. Further, was been diagnosed with erlichiosis (a tick-borne blood infection) and entropian in his right eye, and possibly his left eye (all of which are being treated). Despite this all, he is a happy man.

This is a great dog! Feeling much better now, he has decided to move out of his crate. . .or any crate that we put him in for that matter! He obviously had never been crated, but gives us no problem when it is time to enter the crate (this smart boy just knows how to break out, now).

He is not destructive at all, is housebroken, and gets along with the other dogs of all sizes & genders. He has shown barely a passing interest in the resident felines. He is loveable and friendly, and just plain appreciative. Bru will make some lucky family a wonderful pet! He is amazingly calm in high-stress situations, and is a real gentleman. Bruin knows basic commands and is friendly with all people.  Please email Bruin's foster mom for more information or visit their web site at www.4theloveofdog.org.

Missy

Missy is about 8 years old, . She was found wandering on a busy road, during a recent cold rain storm - nobody has called to claim her, and we've posted flyers at all the area shelters, but nobody seems to know who she is. She is currently being treated for Lyme Disease, and is responding great to treatment. She has a bit of arthritis and that is easily treated with a daily Glucosamine supplement. Don't tell her she's an old lady...she certainly doesn't think she is! Missy is housebroken, spayed, and up to date on her rabies vaccination. Her perfect forever home only requires the following: a warm comfy place to spend the rest of her days, and someone to love her. She is well mannered, sweet and mellow, but she does require a walk to keep those joints lubricated! Missy is currently in residence at the OXFORD ANIMAL SHELTER, Oxford, CT. You can contact the shelter at OxfordK9@yahoo.com, or call 203-881-3653 for more information or to make arrangements to meet Missy.

Diamond

Diamond is a very Handsome 3 years of age, male Rottweiler! He is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on preventative and is neutered. Diamond is great with other dogs, cats, birds, ferrets and children!!! He is a wonderful boy and only wants to please!! He loves to cuddle, play ball, take walks and is an all around wonderful Boy!! He loves to play, but will stop and go lay down quietly when asked.

Diamond has had a few house training accidents, but that may only be because of all the changes he has been put through lately. We will update on his progress as it develops. :-) If you would like to give Diamond a good forever home, please fill out an application! Diamond is in Eastern PA and is available through Majesty Rottweiler Rescue. 845-888-0363

DeeDee

This young rottie girl has been wiating for you since October in the shelter. A great agility prospect, this year old girl is people focused and attentive. DeeDee is correctly marked and docked, but probably has some other breed a few generations back and is likely a mix. She tips the scale at about 60 lbs, and has the drive and desire to please for any type of obedience, agility or canine sport. DeeDee is very strong on lead and knows "sit". She passed rottie rescue's evaluation and is social with other large dogs. She should not live with small animals or kids under 10. DeeDee is currently vaccinated and will be altered prior to placement. She is known as N017079 and resides in cage #59 at the Associated Humane Society in Newark NJ. Please contact them directly for adoption information at 973-824-7080 or visit their web site .

Caesar

Imagine if your pension plan stipulated mandatory jail time with the possibility of execution! That was the fate facing Caesar and his partner, Cleo, when the business they worked for was sold. Their owner and "boss" saw the high-volume urban shelter as an answer to his problem of disposing of these faithful canines.

Caesar is a handsome, loving 4 year-old Rottie who mourns the disappearance of his companion, Cleo, while hoping for the "home all dogs deserve". Caesar is a great Rottie ambassasor, and we are determined that his next position has a better retirement option! He was recently diagnosed with "degenerative joint disease". This arthritic condition may be the result of an untreated injury, and is responding well to oral and injected liquid glucosamine. Caesar is fostered in northern New Jersey, but will travel anywhere in the New England states to his next "job" as your new best friend. Phone his foster Mom, Linda, at (973)812-9749 or e-mail ComanchesMom1@netzero.net to meet Caesar. View more of Linda Goodman's RESCUED DOGS.
