Available Rottweilers

Bear

We have a sweet 3-4 yo NM rottie that needs a home. His name is Bear, and he was a stray brought in by Woburn Animal Control. We were able to track down a previous owner, but they reported that they had "given him away" and they don't want anything to do with him. Bear weighs 90 lbs. and could stand to lose about 10. He appears to get along with other dogs. He hasn't been cat tested yet, but he did great on a walk this morning. Bear is housebroken and has shown no signs of aggression in the week he's been with us. Please contact Sarah for more information.

Kayla

Sweet Kayla Needs a Home

Meet precious Kayla, a 3 year old spayed female Rottie mix. Kayla is a compact 65 lb bundle of personality and love. Kayla is currently living with 3 other dogs, including a senior pittie girl, a cat, and 7 and 8 year old children.

Kayla’s theme is “play ‘til you drop” which she does with the male and female Rotties, but knows to leave the senior pittie alone, saving that interaction to occasional grooming. If not for her competition with the other female Rottie of the same age, she would not be looking for a different forever home. But in the interest of ‘Peace On Earth’ she is looking for a home with just big submissive, playful male, just like her current Rotti buddy, CJ. Sadly, her flunky foster mom, Donna

>>Kayla was found with her male rottie companion in a doorway of an apartment building just outside of Boston. Her male companion was rehomed immediately, but Kayla was passed over repeatedly. This sweet 18 month old rottie girl is the most cuddly and happy girl we've met in a long time. She is a tiny bit shy when meeting new people, but in under 5 minutes, she figures it all out. Kayla has an old injury to a rear leg and she walks with a limp. This does not stop her from running, playing and jumping in cars. As a matter of fact, she plays for hours with any canine companion who will play with her. Kayla would prefer a home with another dog. Kayla currently lives with livestock, cats and younger school-aged kids. She is wonderful with them all! To learn more about Kayla, please visit www.4theloveofdog.org. She is currently in New Hampshire.

Bam

BAM is in immediate need of help. He is a 6-8 yr old unaltered Rottie male (approx 80-90 lbs). He was abandoned when his owner died and the owner’s children did not want him. He has been residing at Bloomfield shelter for the last 2 months. His teeth are in excellent condition; he has no gray on muzzle or anywhere else and his eyes are clear and focused although there is evidence of the beginning of an eye infection in his left eye. Both his posture and movement at the walk and run are consistent with a much younger dog. His personality appears to be laid back and friendly but he is showing signs of stress (dandruff, some hair loss, lack of appetite). He walks nicely on a lead and is interested but not aggressive towards other dogs. (I;e. does not return barking or frantic behavior as walked past other dogs). Bam is in New Jersey and needs help immediately. Please contact Thea if you are interested in meeting him.

Josie

Josie is a special girl who deserves and equally special family. This 12 to 15 month-old spayed Rottie with the natural tail came from a neglectful family who tied her outside and allowed her collar to become embedded in her neck! Through it all, Josie retained her stable Rottie temperament and her infectious sense of humor. Her gazelle impression is not to be missed!! Josie delights in racing through the yard kicking up her heels in the sheer joy of running free!! Now, after conquering life-threatening pneumonia and enduring the painful surgical removal of her collar, Josie is at last ready to get in with her mission in life. . .to make people happy.

Our lucky girl needs a family who is dedicated to improving her house manners and teaching her to walk like a lady on the leash. She is doing well using a Halti. Although Josie likes dogs, we recommend at this time that she be placed in a home as an only dog. She has little experience interacting with them and she would torment any dog in her household. She is never aggressive, but very ANNOYING!!! If you feel that your family could accommodate this dynamo and help her mature into the wonderful Rottie representative she was always meant to be, please complete the online adoption form. Josie is fostered in northern N.J. . Please e-mail ComanchesMom@optonline.net to meet Josie. View more at Paws for Love.

Cooper

Cooper is an intelligent, nice tempered, 17 month old Neutered Male Rottweiler. His energy level is medium and he weighs in at a perfect 87 pounds. The ideal home for Cooper would be an experienced Rottweiler (large dog) home having a securely fenced in yard (no invisible fencing).

Cooper is totally housebroken and non destructive in the home and likes to nap in his crate. He is quiet in the house but will definately alert bark with a DEEP low bark. He is a boy who gets along well with other dogs. No Cats for Cooper though....he is way too focused on them.

Cooper has had a gentle upbringing and thus has great people skills. He was a social butterfly at the vets today, kissing the vet and the staff. He is such a love. He enjoys playing catch and chasing a tennis ball and also going for walks. He walks well with his gentle leader or a regular leash and Martingale collar, and knows his basic commands very well. Complete medical records are available on Cooper.

Want to Go For a Ride or a Walk? ......are the words that Cooper loves to hear. For more information about Cooper, please contact his foster mom, Gail who is in Maine.

Honestly - we know there are more dogs out there who need homes. Each month, an email is sent to at least 25 folks who regularly place dogs and I publish the responses. If you regularly keep in contact with a shelter in the North East and want to add a dog regularly to our list, please email me privately and I will contact you each month for your submission!
