Available Rottweilers

Orlando

Raised in the heart of Yankee territory but too young to know anything about a "Curse", this boy saw the promise in a land far from pinstripes! He packed up his ball, changed his name to Orlando and is looking for a home run into your heart. He is a year old rottie boy. He is very enthusiastic and playful and catch a fly ball without a bobble. He is full of affection for humans and likes to demonstrate this with kisses and snuggles. Orlando needs basic manners and training, and a family who is devoted to him (and will buy him a World Series T-shirt). He is social with other dogs, and loves people of all sizes, genders and races. Orlando would do best with an active family and older school-aged kids who will play ball with him for hours. Orlando may be best suited as an only dog, and definitely will want to attend obedience classes. He would love a job - somewhere to expend his energy. Orlando is in Southern NH. Orlando is available through For the Love of Dog.

Simba

Simba is a 2 year old, spayed female German Shepherd/Rottweiler Mix with a cropped tail and PINK Boa Feathers coming out of her mouth:). Simba was ABANDONED.......her family MOVED and chose to leave her behind. A neighbor is attempting to care for her and find Simba a home. The problem is that the kindly neighbor has an elderly mother she cares for that is in her 80's and, she herself is in her late 60's....it is difficult for each of them to care for Simba properly.

Simba weighs 66 pounds and has lived with teenage children. Simba is playful, enjoys being around other dogs, ignores cats, and is very eager to please. Simba knows a few commands such as SIT and Shake. Simba likes playing catch and will actually bring the ball back for you to throw again.

Simba is heartworm negative, and is on Heartguard, she has also been brought up to date on her shots. Simba wants a family that will treat her as part of the family and give her the love and attention that she so deserves. A fenced in yard is desirable for Simba and another dog to play with would be great for her to burn off energy. If you feel that you are this family, EMAIL SIMBA'S GUARDIAN or PHONE 207-676-9665. Simba is in Southern ME.

Brea

WATCH OUT!!! This girl will steal your heart. Brea is a bit older than a year now and has blossomed since she first came into the foster program. She was a bundle of energy with major separation anxiety. In foster care Brea has successfully completed an Adult Citizenship class. She knows all the basics, sit, stay/wait, lie down, leave it, take it, etc. She is currently being fostered with two cats, one of which is her best friend, the other cat is a bit mean to poor Brea but Brea continues to try to make friends with her nonetheless. Brea is obsessed with “critters”, in fact she learned to scale the 6ft fence at one foster home to go after chipmunks-so a fence will not do for Brea she will need to be exercised on leash. She would prefer (she told me) a home with another friendly dog, and might prefer a male. She is great with dogs of both sexes shapes and sizes and tends to ignore other dominant females. She should not be placed with children under 15 as she has not been able to hurdle that fear in a way that we could ensure a successful match for a forever home. She loves adults and has an affinity for men. If you have an active lifestyle and are looking for a dog who’s love has no boundaries, look no further! Brea is available through The Rottie Connection and is being fostered in Northeastern MA. Brea's foster mom can be reached at anythingspawsable@hotmail.com

Diamond

Hi! My name is Diamond. My family could no longer care for me so I ended up at the New Haven Shelter. I could stand to lose a few pounds but I could go for plenty of walks and play games of fetch to get back to my girly figure. I am about 3 y.o. and love everyone I meet even kids since I lived with them before and miss them so much. I could use a nice warm, loving home and I will give you tons of love in return. I even drop and roll for belly rubs. I have no problem sharing my toys and I take treats gently. I could use a little fine tuning on leash and try not to show how excited I am to meet new people. Maybe the littler humans are not such a good idea for me because I would probably knock them over, but I wouldn't mean to this. I am a very curious girl and I just love life. I do wish some nice family would come and adopt me, my time is running out at the shelter. The staff would all love to see me go to a good home since they all like me so much. Please call the New Haven CT Shelter 203-946-8110 if you would like to come meet me.
