Available Rottweilers

Max

Max was boarding (with a female rottie) at a boarding facility during outside of New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit. They had puppies while they boarded. The owners picked up the puppies and the mom and left Max.  After nine months, the guy running the boarding kennel was going to shoot Max in the field behind the kennel if the shelter did not take him. That's where we got involved. His heartworms were horrible -- the treatment taking more than two months. Max has also had two surgeries to correct entropion.

Max is a gorgeous 4 yr old rottie boy. He is very friendly, very social and loves everyone. Max's foster family reports that he has absolutely PERFECT house manners, loves his crate, and plays very well with the other rottie boy who lives there. Max is strong on lead (and does very well on a gentle leader), but knows basic commands and rides well in the car.

Max is excitable around small animals, so cats and small dogs are not likely. He is appropriate around all people. Max is neutered, heartworm negative and currently vaccinated. He has come a long way, baby! Max joined us in New Hampshire one year after the hurricane -- and he still doesn't know how to swim! Please fill out our adoption application if you are interested in any of our dogs Max is in New Hampshire.

Max would love to be home by Christmas. Help him get the family he so deserves!

Angus

I have named him Angus.  He is a young neutered boy maybe about 2 2 1/2.  he has all his vaccs and is a very handsome boy.  He is very hansome so I dont think this is a Pet store rottie. Anyway he was tied up at a rescue place overnight early Sept and the town Animal control officers have to pick him up since its illegal to abandon any animal that way. He was also really not good in the kennels when people went by.  While he adjusted quickly to all tthe staff. Once he is out of a kennel he is a very smart boy who is very food driven and willing to learn.  He has poor leash walking skills but sits and downs now on command and is working on perfecting his gimme your paw and roll over techniques.  Once he knows you he is such a sweet mush.  At the shelter he would lay under the desk on my feet and chew a bone or toy and take a nap.  He doesn't like small uncontrollable children as his prey drive is also high.  He does have an issue with his hip which I had three opinions on ranging from very mild dysplasia to possible hip repacement with a medium in between being my own vet who works alot with OFA for breeders.  Two agreeed the first vet from the shelter took lousy xrays not positioning him correctly for the xray.  anyway he is getting gluc/chondro and a pain pill right now.  He wasn't crate trained either and is now going into his crate willingly. Angus is on Long Island. Please email DobRman1@aol.com: for more information.

Buka

Poor Buka was sadly abandoned by his owner. Tied to a tree, and all alone, he doesn't understand why he is in rescue. Despite his ordeal, he  seems to be adjusting to shelter life and is his wonderful personality is blossoming. He is a truly likable dog and certainly enjoys all the attention he receives! Buka is a very strong boyand definitely could use someobedience training. We would like to  adopt him out to someone who knows the breed and is willing to workwith him. He is definitely a great, loving guy who has a tremendous amount to offer!!! Buka is housebroken, UTD on his shots and very trust worthy in the house. He is looking for a family  to give him unconditional love, devotion, time, structure and most of all patience to help him become the canine good citizen he isdestined to be.  He is neutered, current on all vaccines and is at Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton, MA.

Maggie

I have so much to give.  All I ask for is a chance for us to meet.  Maybe over a bowl of popcorn?  Ok, I admit I have a sense of humor.  But really I am sooooo lonely.  My name is Maggie, I’m an 8-10 year old mix of rottweiler and I’m not sure what, but people tell me I’m a head turner.  That wasn’t always the case.  Susan found me wandering the streets of Astoria.  My paws were sore and bleeding. I was very, very hungry, tired and scared.  Nobody would help me, so I just kept on running.  Susan took me to the doctor; they helped me feel better and gave me all of my shots.  But she couldn’t help me because I didn’t get along with her two dogs.  She took me to Hudson Valley Boarding where they are very nice to me, but I don’t want to be an orphan anymore. Mommy if you’re out there please, pretty please call Susan at 718-267-6022.  Before I die and go to puppy heaven I want to know real love and a forever home.

Meet the biggest mush in the Rottie world "Our Sweet Carly" Just like the fictitious Rottie in the beloved children’s book "Carl", our "Carly" is the sweetest and most loving Rottweiler you could ever meet. Carly lives to LOVE. This 3 year-old docked, spayed female, is fully housebroken, UTD on her vaccines, heart worm free and on preventative. Our girl is currently living in lower New York state in a home with children. While she is wonderful with all people she meets, Carly would happiest as the only jewel in your crown and would flourish as an only dog or in the company of an adoring male canine companion! This wonderful girl can’t wait to meet you and show off some of her commands. Honestly - we know there are more dogs out there who need homes. Each month, an email is sent to at least 25 folks who regularly place dogs and I publish the responses. If you regularly keep in contact with a shelter in the North East and want to add a dog regularly to our list, please email me privately and I will contact you each month for your submission!
