Available Rottweilers

Roxie

Springtime wish for Roxie....get her groove back! Some dogs carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, and Roxie seems to carry more than her share. A dignified female Rottweiler, Roxie was found as a stray in Portland. Judging by her figure, most of Roxie's 3-4 years have been spent tending to litter after litter of puppies; she is worn out! Roxie is an old, wise soul with the determination and downright stubborn streak of someone who has had to take care of things herself. Roxie's ideal home will be one in which she has a permanent place on the couch, a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or woods several times a day, sunny windows, and people who will make her happiness and well-being a priority. Very much a couch potato, Roxie does not really care to play, but will happily watch if you would like to do so, and is very motivated by yummy cheese or turkey franks as training treats. Roxie has little patience with other dogs who pester her, and will not fare well in a multi dog home. Incredibly strong on leash, Roxie is not the dog for the frail or unsteady on their feet. When left alone Roxie will jump up to investigate items on the counter but then settles down quickly. It does not appear that mischief-making is part of Roxie's persona- she is far too dignified, and likely has excellent house manners! Because of Roxie's unknown history, she is not a dog the staff will place in homes with children under 12, and Roxie has proven that she is far too intensely interested in cats to safely place her with them. Chaos, commotion and too much noise are all stressors for Roxie, who really wants to lead the pampered life and be the soul mate of one or two people! Roxie is sad among the hubbub of shelter life, and has watched her neighbors get adopted around her. The staff is confident that Roxie will meet a true Rotti lover who will recognize the devotion, loyalty and adoration only a sweet, gentle representative of this breed can provide!

Roxie is available through the Animal Refuge League, 449 Stroudwater St., Westbrook Maine - Phone: 207-854-9771

Unnamed Female ~ now named Tori

Wow. How would you like to be living in the same place for four months and have no name yet? Not even a PHOTO? :( I am sad for her. For the purposes of this publication, I'm naming her Tori. Very sweet 5-6 year old female has been at the Torrington, CT Animal Shelter for about 4 months now. She is very people focused and loves to please, especially if you have a tennis ball! I honestly think she would do ANYTHING for a tennis ball! This girl would be great at obdience since she is so smart. Her one flaw is that she has some issues around her food bowl. For more information about her please contact Holly at holly1223@optonline.net.

Astro

This little 10 month old puppy has a natural tail and is a very sweet boy with a real nice look. He is very energetic, fine around cats and ok around other dogs. He is fostered in New York State. Astro is available through The Rottie Connection .

Jasper

This fun-loving year old rottie boy acts his age. At the beginning of adolescence, Jasper is curious about everything - especially where his boundaries are. He is a social boy who gets along with everyone. At 70 lbs, Jasper will not be a huge rottie of story-book fame. Jasper lives harmoniously with another rottweiler, is crate trained and has acceptable house manners. He is learning to walk correctly on lead and basic commands. Jasper would thrive in a cat-free environment with another dog (preferably a dominant female, to keep him in line). Kids over 12 for Jasper. To learn more about Jasper, please visit www.4theloveofdog.org. He is currently in New Hampshire.

Ula

Ula's life changed rather abruptly when her elderly owner passed away and no one in the family could care for her. This 5-6 year old rottie girl is social with everyone, and has lived with other dogs and cats. She has likely been socialized with children as well, but that is not confirmed. Ula calls her temporary home the Worcester Animal Rescue League, and would love to meet you. Please visit her there! The Rescue League is located on 139 Holden Street in Worcester, MA, and is open Monday-Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. We can be contacted by phone at (508) 853-0030.

Romeo

Romeo is a very handsome 1 yr. 84lb. male Rottweiler, he is up to date on all shots, Heartworm neg., on preventative, neutered and is micro-chipped. Romeo is a very nice Boy, he just loves making goo goo eyes at all the girls, and just adores the attention his good looks acquire him. He does seem to be potty trained, he does not mess in his crate. If you would like to give Romeo a good home please fill out an application located on our web page. Josie

Josie represents the thousands of discarded pets who grew from cute puppies to young adulthood without the benefit of unconditional love and TRAINING! She came from a neglectful home that tied her outside and allowed her collar to become embedded in her neck. . requiring surgery to remove the painful noose. Through it all, Josie retained her loving personality and impeccable temperament. Now, after recovering from a life-threatening case of pneumonia, Josie is ready to get on with her mission in life. . .to make people happy! This beautiful 12 month old girl sticks her tongue out and forgets that it is there, demonstrating her infectious sense of humor. . She needs a family who is dedicated to improving her house manners and will appreciate the fact that after all that she has been through, she is good with dogs and cats, and loves children. If you feel that your family could accommodate this dynamo and help her mature into the wonderful dog she is meant to be, please complete the online adoption form. Josie is fostered in northern NJ, and is waiting to meet you. Josie will spend the next few Sundays entertaining her public at the Wayne, NJ PetsMart. Come meet her. Phone her foster Mom, Linda, at (973) 812-9749 or e-mail ComanchesMom1@netzero.net to meet Josie. View more at Paws for Love.

Ms Molly

Molly is a 4 year old spayed female 65 pound Rottweiler. Molly is completely housetrained and crate trained. She is GREAT with cats and MALE dogs. Molly is of medium energy level. She would do best in a FEMALE ONLY home as she tends to be timid around men. Molly is not an overly vocal dog and will alert you when guests arrive. Molly likes going for rides in a car, where she also feels secure. A fenced in yard would be great for Molly to excercise in. No children under 12 years of age. Currently Molly is living with her mom and 3 dogs and needs to find her own home. Please contact Gail via email or by calling Linda at 203-715-7911. Molly says: .....I PREFER WOMEN.....I LOVE CATS AND OTHER MALE DOGS AS WELL (NO FEMALE DOGS, I'M TOO DOMINANT WITH THEM).....I HAVE IMPECCABLE HOUSE MANNERS....I'M CRATE TRAINED....I NEED A FRIEND TO BE WITH....ONCE I BOND.....I'M LIKE A VELCRO DOG........PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTING ME.
