This stunningly beautiful American Bulldog/American Pitbull mix wants nothing more than to be close to your side and YOUR best friend. Rocco is an adorable 10-month old that was returned to the shelter because he is deaf. A pup so loving, gentle and in love with everything was slated to be killed because of his breeding and his handicap.
Rocco is a fantastic foster dog!! Being deaf has not affect on his outlook in life, and can have a few unrealized benefits. He doesn’t bark when someone knocks on the door and isn’t afraid of thunderstorms. He already knows conventional hand signals for sit, down and wait. He is great on a leash, loves to go for his trail walks in the woods and play in the stream near his foster mom’s house. This intelligent boy studies the world around him with his eyes and is fascinating to watch. His favorite thing by far to do is play in the mud. We can’t figure out why he is so captivated by this, but maybe he is secretly disguising himself to be a chocolate lab!! He is housetrained and crate trained but he would love to sleep on your bed, curled up next to you and keep you warm all night. Need some entertainment? You’ve got it with Rocco. He entertains himself for hours with his toys, flipping them around and bringing them to you to play with.
Rocco has passed a rigorous evaluation and shows absolutely no food or toy guarding. He plays very appropriately with dogs his own size and does well with cats. Rocco is recommended for a home owning family experienced with dominant breeds simply because so many dogs end up homeless when renters move to less accommodating apartments. A fenced in yard is required as Rocco delights in racing though the yard, kicking up his heals in the sheer joy of running free!!!
Finally, Rocco is looking for a family to give him unconditional love, devotion, time, structure and most of all patience to help him become canine good citizen he is destined to be. He is neutered, current on vaccines and on Heartworm preventative. He is fostered in
Massachusetts.
