Orlando
December 2004 - Not all happy endings mean that the dog is with a family forever. Some dogs have had too many bad breaks in life, learned the wrong messages when growing up, and in the end, are not safe in society. Orlando is one such boy. While we tried to make him sound cute coming from New York at a time when the Red Sox were victorious as World Series champions, Orlando brought his inner city, scrappy attitude with him (not all inner city dogs have this). Orlando evaluated perfectly at intake, and once in foster care, showed that he was dominant, disrespectful of other dogs and many people, guarded his food & toys, and would fight with any canine who so much at looked in the direction of an abandoned tennis ball. Orlando's behavior caused injury to both canine and human in his foster family. In the end, heaven seems to be the safest place for this boy. God Speed, Orlando. You'll be catching fly balls for the rest of your days - in peace.

Orlando, fka Pep
Raised in the heart of Yankee territory but too young to know anything about a "Curse", this boy saw the promise in a land far from pinstripes! He packed up his ball, changed his name to Orlando and is looking for a home run into your heart. He is a year old rottie boy. He is very enthusiastic and playful and catch a fly ball without a bobble. He is full of affection for humans and likes to demonstrate this with kisses and snuggles. Orlando needs basic manners and training, and a family who is devoted to him (and will buy him a World Series T-shirt). He gets along well with other dogs, and people of all sizes, genders and races. Orlando would do best with an active family and older school-aged kids who will play ball with him for hours. Orlando is available to approved homes throughout the NorthEast.
