Nino

February 26, 2005 - Nino was adopted today by his weekend hosts Amy, Wayne, Sasha (a CACC rottie) and Daisy (a former racing greyhound), and the three kitties. Nino loves the attention he gets from his new family, plays happily with Daisy, and spends hours with them chasing balls. In a recent snowstorm, he uncovered a missing football, and played for hours with it in the snow. He pays little attention to the kitties, especially the one who shares the "office" where he is gated when no one is home. Nino is a very happy boy, and fortunate to be adopted at age 10 after his family dumped him because they were moving to Florida (now, I didn't know that there was a law that says you can't take your rottie to Florida!). Nino is very very happy - Nino particularly loves his dad, Wayne.

April 2005 - Amy writes: Nino makes us laugh every day and we love him endlessly!! He's so cute, he goes to bed early and snores up a storm.... He greets us in the morning with his "ra-roo" (when WE get up - he never gets up before us!). We found his one flaw. He gets into the garbage... coffee grinds, yuck!

Nino - After ten years of loyalty to his family, Nino was unceremoniously dumped at a high volume New York shelter. Why? "Moving to Florida." Didn't they think that he deserved as much of a warm paradise as they did, while he kissed them in the lobby of the shelter as they dumped him off? Today Nino sits in a foster home wondering where they went, and why he didn't go too. While he thinks that his foster family is nice enough, he longs for his own family - whether it be the old one (who doesn't deserve a dog as loyal as he was) or a new one (who he will show devotion to). Nino is a stunning man, with correct markings and a docked tail. He has impeccable house manners, is quiet and social. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and genders. His surrender paperwork says he has lived with cats and children (ages not provided). In foster care he lives with several other dogs and has not met the resident felines - but he will. Nino seeks the loyalty of a family equal to what he will provide - one who will walk him a few times daily and allow him to watch Animal Planet on his comfy bed. 1/21/05 - Nino had a series of senior tests done when he was neutered, and was deemed "very healthy" and his bloodwork was "Great!". He has an ear infection and needed some damaged teeth removed, and now wants to find a place to settle down for the rest of his life.
