Jessie's story is one of being juggled, and Jessie is looking for a permanent address - again. Jessie's original family signed her over to a Maine shelter over after she had been hit by a car and they could not afford to have her cruciate repaired. The surgery was completed, and she was then adopted to another person, who has moved to Florida, leaving her with his father. The father returned her to the shelter, as his living situation wasn't ideal for dog ownership.
Jessie is afraid of men in uniforms and wheel chairs. She is good with most dogs and older kids (13+). Despite her owner having said she lived well with cats, they don't seem to be on her list of top ten best friends in her foster home.
Jessie has been known to scale a fence, so a securely fenced in yard, or better yet - someone who will leash walk her daily, is ideal. Jessie knows her basic commands, is house trained and rides well in the car. She's on glucosamine for joint health (We recommend SynFlex, which costs about $17 for a bottle that lasts about 2 months). This rottie mix girl has a natural tail and weighs about 60 lbs.
