Chewbacca

June 17, 2005 - It happens to the best of us - we foster a dog that touches our heart. Such is Chewbacca... Sue writes: 'we'd like to keep Chewy. We all absolutely love him - as do my dogs - and we certainly have the time for him. He's bonded so well with the kids. Would it be possible for us to make him a permanent member of our family?' ... and Chewy stayed. Congratulations to Sue and her family - and of course to Chewy, for finding his forever home!

Chewbacca

Chewy is a wonderful little boy, about 6 months old. He was found at a construction site, fending for himself and has been working on overcoming his shyness and getting to know people and how to live in a house. He has become a joyful, playful pup at his foster home, but still shows a bit of shyness in new situations. He is 90% housetrained (still requires one time out in early am hours), crate trained and walks well on a lead. Chewy would do best in a situation with another dog friend to model and follow and with older children as he is showing some "herding" tendencies. Chewy will be a large dog (50 lb now) who will need obedience training in order to learn his proper role in the home. He loves to play ball (although getting it back sometimes involves a quick game of tag/chase me). As he is still a puppy, Chewy lives up to his name and loves to chew. After his hard start to life, Chewy deserves a loving family who will continue to work with him to teach him the world is actually a nice place.
