Zeus
I need a foster home! Found stray in Manhattan, Zeus' was on the "To Be Destroyed" list for Wednesday at 6 a.m. His lucky day... as we pulled him at 4:45 a.m. - this guy had a decent evaluation and is good with other dogs and people. Zeus is a Manhattan Mutt. More about Zeus
Patches
She is a 9 month old female pittie who was living alone for two months while people came to feed her and let her out. She is good with other dogs and cats as well. More about Patches
Carlo
Carlo loves people and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tale and kisses. He loves to ride in the car to get the morning coffee with foster mom. Carlo is housetrained and very well mannered in the house. He is about a year old and is still a playful pup at heart. More about Carlo
Nala
Nala would make a wonderful companion. She absolutely loves every single person she meets, and she just wants to be loved back. She's energetic and smart, too! More about Nala

Editor's Note

When Blue turns Gray – Over the past few months, I’ve noticed more and more “Blue Nosed Pitbulls” in shelters across New England and this saddens me. Once the designer color to own, they are obviously not in fashion anymore. We welcomed FOUR blues into our program alone in January, Zeus, Chrissy, Addison and Strauss. And happily, Chrissy and Addison have gone home.
Another fashion trend was the “Red Nosed Pitbulls” and we had a few of those that waited YEARS to be adopted. Nutmeg was brought into our program in December of 2008 and finally found her forever home in January. Autumn, Nutty’s mother was brought into our program in January of 2009 and has been placed in loving long term foster care. Sadie came in March of 2009 and is STILL in boarding waiting for someone to give her a space on the couch and has joined the Not So Spring Chicken Campaign. Lastly, Sharkface Jimmy, a May 2010 intake boy found his couch space in long term foster care!!!
And how could we forget DJ, pulled in March of 2009, he waited until this year to get adopted to a fantastic home and is loving life chasing balls all over New Hampshire!!
We also welcomed Charley into our program. Found tied to a fence in Manhattan, he had his coat on with a simple note that said: “I am old and cannot take care of him any longer, HE is old and he likes bananas.” A previous adopter and current foster mom emailed me and within 30 minutes of Charley dying alone in the shelter, he was saved. He has had a complete senior exam and surgery to remove his lumps and according to his foster mom “The best dog ever….” Charley has his own Facebook page with over 800 people following his new life in rescue!!! Check out his page at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Charley-Bananas/358817544146478
As The Shelter Pet Project states: “A person is the best thing to happen to a shelter pet. BE that PERSON.” Please consider fostering one of our dogs in boarding or even better helping them find their forever home!!
In closing, I want to thank Alpha One K-9 Oasis and Mukota Kennels for always giving such wonderful care and attention to our pittbles and of course to Beaver Valley Farms who constantly gives us high quality dog food for all of the dogs in our care for free.
Woof & wiggle butts to everyone
