Petey
At 15 to 18 months old, Petey has already experienced more life than most pampered pets, and he is ready to fill the position as your new best friend. His evaluation was noteworthy, and he exhibited neither food nor resource guarding. Petey is an affectionate young man who charmed a piece of muffin from a Petco patron! He is social with dogs of either sex, but is yet to be tested with cats. Our boy has benefitted from basic obedience lessons, and is well on his way to becoming an outstanding Pittie Ambassador!
This young man is seeking an active family experienced with dominant breeds. A fenced yard is a must for his daily workouts. Ideally, this enegetic pitbull would welcome dog-savy children older than 10 into his dream home. A compatible female canine companion completes the picture of his ideal family. Petey is now prepared to pursue higher education to keep his intelligent mind exercised, and we expect to hear great things about this 45-pound brindle boy. If you have what it take to match the qualifications of his "dream family", please complete the adoption form and ask for Petey! Petey is in Northeastern MA.

Sadie
If your looking for a 5 year old female with perfect manners...then I'm the dog of your dreams, my foster mom says. I used to live in Upstate New York but for some reason my old family kept me outside and then left me at the shelter saying they couldn't take care of me anymore. I don't understand since I'm such an easy dog. I'm very content just sitting at my foster moms feet and love when she showers me with something called attention. Never knew what that was. I currently live with another male dog and haven't found a dog I don't get along with. I'm a good listener and would never think of going to the bathroom in the house. If your interested in me, please fill out an application. I'm currently being fostered in Northern New Jersey.

Max
Hi everyone. It's me, your next best friend, Max. I'm looking to adopt a family and I need a few things from my new family. I am very structured, I make sure my foster family doesn't over sleep their alarm ~ I need to go out every morning you know. I love to play - especially with our kong - and I think that EVERYONE should know how much I am enjoying myself. Foster mom says that I talk too much. I disagree. I just let everyone know that I'm playing.
When my foster parents go to work, I stay in my crate. But when they come home, I'm well rested and ready for alot of playing. My new family should plan to have plenty of pull toys, balls, ropes and kongs, for me.
I also hope that they are house trained like me. I do find that smaller family members (my foster mom call children) are constantly falling over as I try to let them pet me. Mom says that I'm pushy. I think they just have a problem standing on only two feet all the time. Kids over 15 for Max. I also love to go on long walks, I do allow my family to accompany me so they can get to see the neighborhood too. I'm a growing boy still, around 90 pounds, Pop says I should only gain five or so more pounds. I have my foster parents partially trained ~ they know all the commands, but waiting for them to reward me for giving a proper command just takes time. The family I am going to adopt must understand that they must go to obedience training so they know that they must give me my treats right away.
My foster parents have allowed cats into their home (and I like them!). I'm glad because they are great to chase until they stop running. It's boring when they just stand there rubbing up against your leg when you want a good chase. I guess that is what toys are for. So if you meet my criteria, then don't be afraid to speak up, I'm waiting in New York state.

Puma
"On Wednesday, February 11, 2004, Puma's life changed forever. Hit by a car, this two-year-old Rottie man suffered a painful shattered tibia in his left rear leg. As a stray in the Manhattan, Puma faced a 7 day impound with minimal vet care. . .then inevitably. . .EUTHANASIA. His life was saved by a late night phone call to TRC, and Thursday morning Puma trustingly climbed into the back seat of my sedan. His leg was painfully swollen and dangling, and his sad eyes reflected his plight, Puma will not be available until his injuries heal and we can assess his true temperament, which we are expecting to be stellar. At this time, Puma's medical expenses have exceeded $1000, and TRC needs your help - for dogs like Holly, Puma, Eli
Watch here for more on Puma. He is in northern NJ.
but Puma remained stoic during the bumpy 40 minute ride to the Animal Hospital. He gratefully kissed my hands as I petted his lovely head. Over the next few days, Puma would prove to be the epitome of Rottweiler stability and intelligence."

Mandy
At 2-3 years old, Mandy is everything that you'd want in a solid working dog. High drive, amazing focus and trainability and desire to please - coupled with a picture perfect dog. Mandy has been waiting for the right home - one where she will be challenged mentally (she is VERY smart) as well as loved and cherished as a family member. Mandy caught they eye of the local police force, however, they were not accepting dogs into their program at the time. Mandy is 90 lbs, spayed, and currently vaccinated. She has a stunning physique, a beautiful blocky head and a great smile. She adores people, and is most appropriate for a family with kids over 12. She is acceptable with other dogs, but greets them poorly. Cats and small dogs are absolutely not an option. Mandy is house trained, crate trained and rides well in the car (except when she wants to drive). She comes complete with a boomer ball and a kong. If you want a working dog, but don't want the hassle of a puppy, meet Mandy. You won't be disappointed. Mandy is in New Hampshire.

Gidget
It's anyone's guess how this docked Rottie girl found herself alone in a deadly cold parking lot giving birth. Gidget was in excellent condition, with a glossy coat and good weight, and her healthy pups advertise good care. She obviously had not been homeless for long.
At any rate, with motherhood behind her, this lovely three year-old is now preparing to interview her "forever" family. She is affectionate with everyone she meets and is particularly fond of children. Always ready for a cuddle, Gidget loves long walks and ball games. Time will tell if she will outgrow her fascination with wooley, squeaky toys! Gidget needs to be the only dog, and no cats need apply for residence in her "dream" home. Northern NJ

Cody
Handsome Cody was surrendered when his owner returned from jail and threatened to shoot him. Cody is about 7 years old, and knows how to charm. His large frame leaning on your leg could topple a petite person, but his affection is genuine. Cody is thin at about 100 lbs, knows basic commands and rides well in the car. He is in Southern NH. waiting to meet the right family. Cody is social with dogs of all sizes and genders and is untested with cats.

Harley & Nikki
Harley and Nikki have been together since their births three years ago. This handsome pair is looking for that special family who will make room in their hearts and home for BOTH of them. No cats please. They are truly a bonded pair, and kiss and groom each other when they are reunited after even a short time apart. After suffering the loss of the only family they have ever known,, it would be heartless to separate them. I could not bear to witness their last day together.
These treasured pets lost their loving home when the twelve year-old daughter in the family of 4 children developed a life-threatening allergy to this brother and sister. After living with friends for the last 6 months, she returned home to say goodbye the night before they were surrendered. Although that action resulted in an asthma attack that landed her in the ER, she nontheless pleaded with her parents to keep Harley and Nikki. "I'll get better," she promised. Allergy is an often used as a convenient excuse for getting rid of the family pet. . .as the truth, it is devastating. New Jersey foster home

Brea
Brea is an absolute love. She wonderful with dogs of all sexes, ages, shapes and sizes. She is currently being fostered with a cat but would chase them if she could get away with it. She is obsessed with chipmunks and squirrels and has learned to scale a 6 ft fence in order to seek out her little furry friends. So she is a dog that would need to be attended on leash. She is a bright girl who is currently enrolled in obed classes is very willing to learn. She came into foster as a ball of energy with some major separation anxiety issues (no doubt the result of being surrendered after giving birth the a litter that TRC does not know the whereabouts of) but has blossomed into a well-adjusted girl. She is friendly to everyone she meets and seems to have an affinity towards men. She has become surrogate mom to TRC’s Cecile who also shares her foster home. She is still working on her manners and learning that “sit” pays and jumping does not. My guess is that she was surrendered because she was a cute pup then grew into a bog girl and her previous home never bothered to teach her any manners. She would prefer (I asked her) another dog to be buddies with (she seems to gravitate towards males), but would settle for a loving home to call her own. Brea is being fostered in Northeastern MA. and is approx 11 mos old.

Simone
What can we say regarding this beautiful little girl who has, apparently, been hurt a lot during her short year of life?
At 65 lbs, Simone is a gentle, quite, sweet and very shy girl (as long as you are watching her). She takes time to accept people in the same room but after a time she will come to you to have her head petted as long as there are other obstacles (dogs) present. I have not seen her go up to a man for any type of attention and would prefer to hide under a table if this is the case. If Simone does not know she is being observed , she is a very playful and a happy girl. She loves to run and play in the yard and splash in the dog pool with her best rottweiler friends Max and Ares.
Because of her insecurities with men, Simone’s forever home needs to be an all women. She needs other dogs for companionship, plus a lot of love and understanding. Well-mannered kids over 12 are acceptable. She is loving and wonderful with cats and dogs of all sizes. Simone is fostered in New York State.

Phoebe
This 9 month old rottie mix has lived with small children, other dogs and cats. She is extremely appropriate with all, and loves everyone. Phoebe is a gem to have in the house, and is loving and gentle with everyone. Because she is likely a newfie mix, she will require regular grooming. Phoebe is in New York state waiting to meet you.

Gypsy
Five year old Gypsy is looking for her FOURTH and forever home. In two homes prior to becoming a TRC dog, and one home since joining TRC in 2003, Gypsy has been juggled too many times (through no fault of her own!), and really wants to settle down. Forever. With her own family. Gypsy is social with other dogs (tho prefers males), and has lived with school-aged children and cats. She is house trained and has basic manners. What she doesn't have is her forever FOREVER home. Gypsy is in New Hampshire and loves the country.

These pups born on May 12- they are 5.5 weeks old now- will get their first shots Wednesday. They are doing great! Diva
Diva is a beautiful 8 month old New York City girl. She found herself at a high volume shelter when her family decided she had grown too big for their apartment. This SWEET girl is correctly marked and has a natural tail. She knows basic obedience and rides well in the car. She is 90% house trained and is crate trained. Diva gets along with other animals, loves people, and is affectionate.
When she arrived at her foster home in NH at night, she just stood there sniffing the crisp air, listening to the peepers and staring at the fireflys. After a long day of transport she was happy to have a snack, some nice cold yummy well water, and curl up with a cookie on her freshly washed blanket in her clean crate. So far, I think she is enjoying "New Hampshire's Fresh Air Program"

Angus BeefCakes
What Angus needs most is his own PERSON.
If only dogs could talk...
We will never really know what happened ot Angus in his five yars on this earth. Most recently however, we know that his owner left him in a pen for 23+ hours/day for several weeks as he headed for divorce. Because of this - and likely many other situations, Angus shows poorly in the presence of other dogs and on lead, in a crate or behind a fence.
Angus is a typical, headstrong male rottweiler - with stunning good looks and a stable temperament. At 95 lbs, Angus will require a home whose owner can focus on HIM. Angus will do best in a home where is the only male dog. Angus should not live with cats, small animals or kids under 15.
Angus offers, in return for a devoted human companion, his complete devotion. Angus is house trained, crate trained, knows his commands, and will do anything for a ride (you need an SUV. He can't ride shot gun!). Angus is in central NH.

Pinto
This playful, pointer-pit cross was found roaming the streets by animal control. Barely five months old, this white and tan boy had committed no crime large enough to face the certainty of euthanasia. Pinto loves other dogs, and is learning how to "share" attention. He is handsome and intelligent, and is available for adoption to a family experienced with dominant breeds.
Pinto was the hit of his first social event and enjoyed the attention while freely dispensing kisses. Now six months old, neutered, and UTD on shots, he waits in northern N.J. for his "forever" family who will care for, train and love him.

General
Who can resist a puppy? General is a bright 13 week old male with an ideal temperament. He is quiet, happy, loving and a first-rate snuggler. General's foster home in Western Mass has two adult Rotties and 5 cats and he just loves them all! General has been busy learning to "sit", "come", walk on a leash, ride well in the car and has had many "play dates" with dogs of all breeds for socialization. While General still needs some work on house training, he is a quick learner and he definitely aims to please.

Shiloh
On the morning of a major ice storm, six-month-old Shiloh was confiscated for neglect by animal control. Shiloh had a very bad case of pneumonia, plus a severe ear infection. Flies had bitten this little guy’s ear so badly that the infection was more life-threatening than the pneumonia. The doctors had no choice but the amputate half the ear off to save his life.
Two weeks later, a much-healthier Shiloh was placed by a high-volume shelter in New York State. Shiloh was a very happy puppy with his new human brother, sister and big fenced in yard. He even discovered that living in a house was great as long as he went to the bathroom outside. Just before his first birthday, Shiloh was placed in the car with his human brother and sister while mommy drove them to a new home, with no yard and only four rooms.
Shiloh is a BIG (115 pounds) one and a half year old male, who loves everything and everybody. He is good with cats, kids of all ages and dogs of all sizes. He loves to play and sit beside you for hugs and kisses. He is housebroken and crate trained but needs basic obedience training. He is fostered in New York State.

Gus
Eighteen month old Gus is a real character. He has a fabulous personality. Loves everyone & anything so far. Gus so desperately needs a family to love him & spend time with him. He is content chewing a bone or laying outside if you are with him nearby. He is very people focused . He is goofy & playful yet will immediately snap back into place if he is corrected. Gus knows his basic commands but is strong on the leash ~ nothing a little refresher course wouldn't cure.
Gus has never had accident - even now on my 10 hr day schedule. Gus shows his Rottweiler side in his disposition and his lean...he will lean on you and look up with his beautiful face til he slides down to the floor & waits for a belly rub. Other than that Gus looks more like a Rhodesian Ridgeback with his red speckled coat. Gus has lived with young children, cats & other dogs. Gus' mom was a rottweiler. His dad ~ a midnight caller. Gus is in southeastern MA.
